75% of TCS employees will work from home by 2025

NEW DELHI

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has decided that 75 per cent of its employees will work from home by 2025.

TCS, which is the largest IT service company of India, has decided to permanently adopt the remote working revolution brought by COVID19 pandemic.

The company has 3.55 lakh employees.

In an interview with Business Today, NG Subramaniam, chief operating officer of the company said they don’t believe that more than 25 percent of workforce is required in office to be 100 percent productive.

Subramaniam said under the new model, each employee would spend only 25 per cent of their working time in office.

At present, 90 per cent of TCS employees are working remotely after the lockdown was announced following COVID19 pandemic.

All the employees are using a platform called Secure Borderless Work Spaces (SBWS) to work remotely.

It is presumed that other IT majors will also follow the footsteps of TCS, and bring about a new era of virtual business practices.

Top honchos at TCS are also optimistic that promoting work from home would help the company to save on costs.

Moreover, every location can also operate in smaller office space.
